Private Studio Sessions
All private sessions will be held with Stacey who is a comprehensively trained Pilates teacher. She will create a Pilates program that is suited just for you. You may want to decrease lower back pain, work specifically around a medical condition, strengthen after a baby, improve your sporting performance or just generally get stronger and fitter in a more personalised session.
During regular sessions, usually once a week, she will create a dedicated program that will look at moving your body in all areas but with the focus to help with your specific objective. If you have been referred from a Physio, She can help to incorporate your given exercises as well as progress you once ready. Stacey currently has private clients with a variety of needs and feels passionate that Pilates can help improve peoples bodies for the better.
The studio uses Balanced Body Allegro reformers with a tower, an BB Exo chair, Spine Corrector, Align Ladder Barrel and smaller Pilates props.
Stacey trained through Lynne Robinson’s Body Control Pilates centre here in London. After experiencing severe back problems after the birth of her first child, she discovered the benefits that Pilates offers and has never looked back. “Once the pain was managed I could then focus on the rehabilitation and rebuilding of my body, Pilates gave me the tools to take control and make a difference to what my future movement would be. I continue to learn everyday through my contact with people how important our movement is, sometimes it is for us to move better now, if we have an injury etc. but also if we want to move well in the years ahead. The beauty of Pilates is that there are many ways to encourage this, I think it is important our body learns functionality but also joy of movement at the same time, whatever our starting point.”
There are many reasons that a private session could be beneficial but here are a few.
Lower back pain issues - this could be non specific lower back pain that is affecting your everyday life and you just want to feel that you can move better and with less pain or maybe you have had a scan showing a disc bulge or some kind of degeneration and would like to ease yourself back into moving after you have finished your medical treatment.
Training for a sporting big event - maybe you are running a 10K, a marathon or maybe a major cycling event and want to use Pilates to help prevent injury and improve flexibility and strength. Many top end athletes are using Pilates to add to their training schedule.
Postnatal recovery - pregnancy and childbirth are challenging on women’s bodies. Rebuild from your foundation, improve pelvic floor mobility, release tension in the shoulders and neck, strengthen your muscles and joints so that you can reclaim your body back!
Babies pre-crawling are welcome to attend.
A specific medical condition that gives you challenges and maybe you feel that would benefit from individual attention, I have worked with Scoliosis, hernitated discs, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Spondylolisthesis, Osteoarthritis, Sciatica, Osteoporosis, Spondylosis, Hernias, Diastasis-recti, hip & shoulder replacements, cancer survivors and rehab work after a certain operations or changes in ones physical movement.
Peri /Menopausal - women going through menopause often stop exercise at this key stage of their life due to their symptoms becoming overwhelming. Evidence suggests movement is incredibly beneficial at this time, for easing ease joint aches and pains, improving mental health and most importantly we lose our lean muscle mass & bone density due to the decrease in estrogen, so we need to add weights and resistance to help fight against these decreases and the effects that this has.
We are all getting older and movement is so beneficial to us especially as we age, as they say if we don’t use it we lose it!
